Our 1995 green Saturn is finally dying. We lost the air conditioning yesterday and I told Troy I refuse to drive it anymore in Arizona. At least until the weather drops below 80 degrees.
We've started discussing the possibility of getting another car. What do you think of this:
Yeah, right!! I would rather have food on the table for the next few years. Instead, we are looking at used small cars or minivans. I'm a little overwhelmed at trying to decide what in the world to buy. Anyone want to sell us their car? Really though, what kind of car do you recommend?

A used Tahoe or Yukon. Our rental a brand new Tahoe (love love love it), but I like the old ones too. Or a used Honda Odyssey. If I was going to get a minivan, that would be it.
Don't get the older Durango. ;) It's cramped, even for me!
So there's my 2 cents. :)
I sure love my Mazda 5. More than driving Tate's BMW! :)
A Mazda. Any Mazda. They will last forever. I really wish they still made their mini van. I love mine. I had planned to drive it 200,000 miles and then trade in for a new one. Instead I'll have to get a Mazda CX9. Anyway, can't go wrong with a Mazda. We've had the van, a protoge and a mazda 6 and have loved them all.
Oh, and good gas mileage which is always good for a budget!
I love my Honda Pilot. Good mileage, easy access, and best of all, a fabulous air conditioner.
I don't blame you for not driving it w/o air conditioning. We just had to get a new car a few months ago. I hate looking for a new car. I would suggest getting something with more room. It is so much nicer with kids. We got a Saturn Vue, which I like a lot and it was affordable, but I've also thought that it would have been nice to get a minivan. Good luck!
DYNASTY, BABY!!!
My three siblings with kids and Jim's three siblings with kids all have Toyota Siennas . . . and LOVE them. Can't go wrong with a Toyota and they're much better looking than the Honda Odyssey.
Live my dream and get a Sienna or an Odyssey. Or live Scott's and get a Pilot.
Or you could be like us and drive exclusively Camry's. :)
No AC in AZ. Yikes! I hope you get a new ride quick!
Minivan all the way.... SUV is nice, but not as easy for grandparents and other adults to get into once you have carseats.
With little kids, minivan all the way!! Easy access and drives just like a car. I think most brands are good, so go with what you can afford. My sister-in-law just bought a newer used Chrysler minivan after checking out the Honda and the Toyota. They were albe to get a newer vehicle for less money by buying domestic versus the foreign. Just a tip if you don't care about brand. We have owned two dodge minivans and have liked them both. But, now that my kids are reaching the dreaded teens, I would love an SUV!
I bought a new (to us) car this summer. I did some research and went with a Toyota Sienna.
I used Craigslist and bought it from a private party.
We really like the car. Everywhere you look in that car there is some one's good idea, like they tried to maximize its utility and usefulness.
You might look at Consumer Reports. FYI it has terrible things to say about Chrysler products.
Outback. And I'm not talking about Australia.
Or you can buy our 86 subaru. It's exciting to drive since you never know if you might die or not.
TOYOTA!!!!!! I love, LOVE, love my Sienna minivan!! Tons of room, great gas mileage! Good luck!!!
Get a car with four doors and good mileage. You need a tow vehicle, so you don't need a minivan and a jeep on the same fleet. The bigger the car, the bigger the cost of repairs and tires. Get the minivan when your Jeep dies.

Oh I meant to mention a Honda, too. I sure miss my old Honda.
