So here is the continuation of the Reader's Digest saga. It's been confirmed that my joke was published in the January 2008 edition. It is on the second page from the back, in the top right corner (Life in These United States). Look for the joke highlighted in orange.

Not Erica's Blog

Troy observed the other day that our blog has transformed into "Erica's Blog" rather than the "Tegeder's Blog." He suggested that I put some pictures of myself up. I compromised and put one of me up with Erica. This one's for Troy:

I'm Famous (sort of)!!!!

A couple people have now seen my published joke in Reader's Digest. My subscription ran out, so I haven't actually seen it, but it goes something like this:

I recently called a popular airline to inform them that I would be traveling with an infant. Our conversation went like this:

Airline Agent: Your name?
Me: Nancee
Airline Agent: Last name?
Me: Tegeder
Airline Agent: Your infant's first name?
Me: Erica
Airline Agent: Her last name?
Me: The same.
Airline Agent: Erica Erica?

Now they are supposed to pay me anywhere from $100-$300 for this joke, but I haven't heard or received anything. Way to go Reader's Digest.

1. I have the greatest husband in the world and I realize it more each day. Here are just a few of his qualities: handsome, patient, intelligent, creative, artistic, resourceful, loving, loyal, romantic, inventive, musical, wonderful, etc.

2. I've spent the last hour and a half trying to get my daughter to sleep and the fight still goes on...Any suggestions from the masses on how to get your kid on a schedule. She usually takes an afternoon nap, but refuses to go down again until after hours of fighting it. She finally tuckers out about 7pm, but I would like her bed time to be later because she doesn't sleep more than 8 hours, which puts her wake up time at about 3am. Doesn't work for me. HELP!!!!

3. I love to exercise: running, tennis, snowboarding, wakeboarding, boogie boarding, swimming, ping pong, soccer, frisbee, football, etc. Now, if only I could find the time to do it.

4. My favorite TV shows right now are "The Office" and "24".

5. I've visited the following countries: United States, Canada, Mexico, Ukraine, Russia, France, Vienna and New Zealand.

6. I wore long sleeves to the library yesterday and it was so hot in the car I had to turn my air conditioning on in November. I love Arizona!!!!

2 Months Old

Erica's 2 month stats:

Height: 22.3 inches (43 percentile)

Weight: 8 lb 5 oz (3 percentile)

Head Circumference: 38.5 cm (41 percentile) - So she's got a big head.

This is the usual serious face/grimace she wears. P.S. Read the onesie.

Already training for a marathon:

Almost caught a smile. It's hard because everytime I put the camera in front of her, she gets distracted. This will have to be a two-man job.

Just being cute. I might also add that it is the middle of November and she can still wear a sun dress. She doesn't know how lucky she is.
